2007 Festival Guide

Thank you for stopping by and reading my thoughts for this week. Well what can I say about the year so far? The weather's certainly done its best to put off the faithful and newbies to the festival scene, but the numbers have certainly remained high. The growing success of the T in the Park annual event was confirmed by the sale of 40,000 early bird tickets in just 65 mins, for 2008's bash. There has been some casualties tho...namely the Fflam festival in Swansea, postponed due to bad weather and waterlogged fields. They are expected to announce the new dates any time so stay up to date here News&Reviews. Song 07 was also a casualty, this was due to the local communities objection to the festival, originally planned for the idillic Kirklees countryside.
Michael Eavis of Glastonbury fame felt it necessary to comment about the type of punter attracted to his festival this year, apparently they were too middle aged and conservative??

August Festivals

Its a big month in the Festivals calendar, kicking off with what promises to be the biggest gathering in Europe @ The Big Green Gathering. Then the usual biggies - V Festival, Leeds and Reading, T on the Fringe, Creamfields and South West 4/Get loaded in the Park.
August also pays host to the Notting Hill Carnival, the biggest street party in europe! Certainly one to make your way down to if at all possible.
Then we have the not so well known (unfortunately) festivals, representing the many other styles of music such as the more classic styles at the Snape Proms, the Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza and 3 Choirs Festival.
My suggestion is, take a look at my Festival_Guide and see whats best for you! You'll never forget the experience and you'll be helping to "Keep Music Live".
